russian grumble man

another thingy for zambi. it was really more of a project for myself than anything else. people seemed to be having difficulty grasping the differences between a centaurs and cervi/elktaurs or whatever the hell pangea is. so i wanted to do a little comparison study of the elk (deer) and horse bodies in motion. i found that for some reason it's a lot easier for me to draw deer bodies than horse bodies, and that horses run very ODDLY. it doesn't really occur to you until you stop to look at their running cycle broken down that it looks weird. i still think the way dora's (centaur in the back) legs are looks odd, but that's how it's supposed to be. the deer body was much easier. i'm not QUITE sure on the sizing. zambi said that dora's about the size of a standerd walking horse, and pangea's body is the size of a female elk which makes her a bit smaller and less stocky. i dunno if it's quite on the mark here.

i don't know what they're doing, i just was planning to draw them both running to show the difference in stride, etc, but i think in my mind they're playing tag or something. i don't think dora'll catch her quite yet, she is a trisky forest thing, and elks can jump quite well. uhh is there anything else.... i know it's just sketchy and penciled, but i spent a reasonable amount of time on it figuring out the proportions and correct stride, etc, so i'll post it in the main thing here. dora's reaching arm/hand are horrible. sorry. i couldnt' get them quite right and they weren't the point of the picture so i moved on. if i think of anything else i'll edit this. i'll probably try this again in the future when i'm more comfortable with the animal bodies. (personally i think the animal parts of this came out better'n the human elements.)

and since people can never seem to deal with the titles not having anything to do with the picture- NO the title has nothing to do with the picture. and NO i'm not explaining it to you, so don't ask about it, it's annoying. this isnt' 'devianttitle' so get over it. they're just words at the top of the picture.
